I can hardly believe our next child getting married, our youngest son Dawson! As we approach the big day we have been busy getting everything all set for the wedding in addition to, juggling everyday tasks and the business workload.
I was blessed once again, having been asked to officiate my handsome son and his beautiful Fiance’s wedding. Not many mamas get the opportunity to get the best view in the place, right up in front center not once but twice! Words cannot express the joy I had, officiating my daughter Kelly and Son-In-Law, Jacob’s wedding. Seeing everything in such a unique perspective I was beyond grateful that day and can hardly wait to create new treasured memories of my son’s special day. For the wedding, the couple chose to continue the hand-binding tradition. A Celtic tradition of binding the bride and groom’s hands during the vows with three beautiful hand-woven cords. One representing the bride & groom. Another is the bride’s family. And lastly the groom’s family. Delicately interlacing the cords around the bride and groom’s hands and gently tucking the ends into the palms of each of them. After the vows have been said they gently slip their hands out of the cords keeping hold of the ends, inevitably tying all three cords into an infinity knot, representing an unbreakable bond. Hence the term “tying the knot”.
Carefully I chose just the right colors, textures, and patterns to create the perfect binding cords for them to enjoy for generations to come. It truly is a very special tradition to witness and in my case perform. I can’t wait to share it with our friends and families once again.
Meanwhile, my husband is continuing his never-ending work on all the projects of renovating and upgrading our home over the years. Having completed our lower living room, he has since moved on to working on the kitchen. In addition, juggling projects outside the home in the yard. Just when we thought we were going to have a laid-back summer the wedding was moved up to September 1st. An entire year earlier than we expected. No rest for the weary lol! As if things were not busy enough our poor husky Nyx ended up blowing out her other knee. It had only been one year since her last surgery on her left knee. With the amount of attention and care she will need, we decided to schedule her surgery for after the wedding so we can give her the utmost care and attention.
So as you can imagine our home is bustling with energy and activity every day. However so, we always make sure to tell each other we love one another every day. As tomorrow is not promised so treasure the time you have today!
